Bikes the island, checked out the fort, shopped, dinner. Thursday - Drove to St Ignance took the 930am ferry to Mackinaw Island. After the tour it was dinner time then pool time for the kids. Made it in time to see the lakeshore park and hurried up to get to the boat tour.
Wednesday - Drove from Lancaster, WI to Munising. We just did this trip and here is what we did You can do the bridge but I don't think you will have time to get the rest in. it took us longer to get around then we thought There is some road construction and we had to take a detour which took us longer to get from the lakeshore to the boat tour.Ĥ. You will not get everything done on day 1 that you have listed. I think what you have listed for Day 1 you will do on day 2. We did see the carriage rides and they see the highlights but were not on the bike trail so you miss a lot.ģ. You do not need to rent a bike until you get there, they have LOTS.
We stopped many times to enjoy the water, rocks,etc. We saw a lot people stopping and enjoying the views along the way. They have bathroom stops on the way and areas to have a picnic. The route is paved and flat, there are 2 small hills.

You can do a horse carriage ride but to get the full view of the island you should rent a bike. This was the kids favorite part of our trip. Family of four was $180 but worth every cent. We ran out of time but if we had more time we would have made our way to the beach and to the Au Sable Lights Station. We did not check any others out since we did a waterfall tour a few years ago in the UP. Small walking trail brings you to the falls. The other falls was Wagner falls - this was right near Alger. We did not stop since it was at a T-intersection. The only two falls we checked out for Alger Falls (located right next to the highway.
